Profile Biography
I love learning about the human body! When I was growing up, I thought that I wanted to become a medical doctor because it was the only job I knew about that involved studying the human body. Now I know that there are so many different kinds of jobs out there that are perfect for people who are fascinated by the human body. Take my job, for example.

I work as an anatomy professor. Anatomy is the study of the structure of living things. I get to teach medical students about the body's parts so that one day when they are doctors, they will do a good job taking care of their patients' bodies. We use many different things to teach and learn about the human body, like photographs, videos, medical images (X ray, ultrasound, CAT scans, MRI), 3D computer models, and people who have donated their bodies to science. We even look at parts using microscopes so we can see the body's cells up close. I also do medical education research, which means I study the way medical students learn.

Though I currently teach medical students, human anatomy professors are needed to teach lots of different types of students and professionals. To name a few: nurses, physical therapists, dentists, podiatrists, optometrists, chiropractors, biomedical researchers, kinesiologists, personal trainers, massage therapists, emergency service workers, paleontologists, and artists. A great thing about being an anatomy professor is having the opportunity to be involved in all of these different fields.
