Profile Biography
Hi, I'm Sophie - nice to e-meet you!

A little about me: I recently graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I am now working remotely in San Diego at an environmental consulting company called Wood.

I love working with people and solving problems. Although I didn't always know what I wanted to do, my goal was to find a career where I could promote sustainability and help the environment.

After coming to UCSD, I changed my major to Chemical Engineering in the hopes that it would provide me with the skills I would need to find that dream career. I got involved with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and played on the womxn's ultimate frisbee team as well.

Now, I am working with the environmental compliance group at Wood, which primarily deals with stormwater. I also have more traditional Chemical Engineering experience from a previous internship at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. I worked in the Materials Engineering division on a project where we converted CO2 to a usable fuel.

In my free time, I love to play with my cats and bake for my roommates.
