Profile Biography
Hi! My name is Roselin and I am a Chemist with great passion for mentoring!

I am a Polymer Chemist, Inventor and Women in STEM Advocate with background in multiple STEM fields. I obtained my B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey in 2008 and my Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Rutgers University in 2013. For my graduate work, I developed new biomaterials for drug delivery applications and became an inventor in multiple patents. After earning my PhD, I worked for an ingredient supplier company for 2 years and in the cosmetics industry for 6 years. As a cosmetic chemist I formulated extreme wear makeup and was an inventor in 43 patent applications globally, I was able to see multiple formulas in the market. My major contribution to the cosmetics field was the invention of Maybelline’s SuperStay Matte Ink, an extreme wear lipstick with a comfortable feel. In April 2021 I decided to leave in the cosmetics industry and look for an opportunity in which I can utilize my skills, experience and knowledge to make a significant impact in society. I am now using my polymer chemistry and formulation knowledge in biotechnology.
