Profile Biography
Howdy! My name is Nekita, I’m a FabFem mentor because I am passionate about supporting girls and young women as they transform into thriving and impactful leaders. The thing I’m most interested in is helping others learn skills of the future specifically STEEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, & Math), and cultivating the entrepreneurial mindset. Here’s a little more about me:

Even from a young age I had an interest in reading, research and was very inquisitive and analytical. But there were no role models or mentors that stepped forward to show me how to apply my strengths or steer me toward career options in STEM. Although my mom worked 20+ years in information technology (IT) for a major telecommunications company…it didn’t dawn on me until I was a working adult that I could have followed in her career path. So I’m here to empower girls it’s never too late to reach for the moon!

I’ve spent the last 20 years gaining experience in Resource Management, Program Management and Contracting of IT hardware, software, & services. My roles have spanned private, public, and nonprofit including Fortune 500 companies in financial services, hospitality, aerospace & defense, and retail industries. In 2020 I became the Founder and CEO of U2LYZE, a tech start up that’s building a blockchain enabled skills-based recruiting platform, matching pre-vetted talent to employers using SMARTPortfolios.

When I am not busy working or impacting change in the community I am spending time with my family-trying to be the best role model for my 6 year old daughter who loves ‘safe science’, engineering, and technology! In my spare time my hobbies include cycling, Zumba, yoga, and being a wanderlust who daydreams of traveling.

I’d love to get to know you more. Send me a message to see how I can support your FabFem journey!
