Profile Biography
Mechanical Engineering grad from the University of Houston. I'm a lifelong learner with a passion for the STEM subjects. I have serve as an officer of the UH chapters of Society of Women Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and Society of Petroleum Engineersas well as a member of all national chapters. I am also served the International Gas Turbine Institute of ASME as the Student Advisory Committee Secretary. I decided to pursue engineering because I love to figure out how things work. I now work for Leidos at Johnson Space Center in Houston in the Flight Operations Directorate as a Flight Controller and Instructor in the Operations Support Officer group.
I love to share my passion with young students, especially girls, and show them the fun and possibilities that come with getting a STEM education. I also am still involved in my former career as a professional sign language interpreter. When I'm not going to school, I like to read, spend time outdoors fishing and shooting sporting clays, or just hang out with my friends and family.
