Profile Biography
I am currently a postdoctoral fellow in Reproductive Immunology. I received my medical doctor degree in Universidad de Monterrey,Mexico in 2004. Then, I received Obstetrics and Gynecology training at the Universidad de Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico, and took a fellowship in Reproductive Biology at the Instituto para el estudio de la Concepcion Humana, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico in 2010. I came to United States three years ago to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship in Reproductive Immunology at Reproductive Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Vernon Hills, Illinois.
During these three years, I have been working, among other projects, on a study that investigates a possible association between early pregnancy immune effectors and preeclampsia. I’m passionate about science and love being challenged by difficult cases or research pitfalls. I hope I can be an inspiration to my son and other women.
I'm an example that no matter your gender or nationality you can search for opportunities to learn and grow; that you should never underestimate yourself or the things you can accomplish. As Marie Curie said: “We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.”
