Profile Biography
I'm originally from Mexico and in lower, middle and high school I enjoyed Math very much and wanted to pursue a career in Math, however the college that I attended didn't offer that degree so instead I chose to study Physics Engineering which was the that moment the degree with more Math involved. My parents were very supportive although they weren't sure it was a field for a woman. I'm glad I took that decision because it has not only opened my vision but at the same time opened doors with many different opportunities, and since then I have had the chance to work in the industry in different engineering fields, once I started my family I went into the Education field as a middle & high school Math and Physics teacher which gave me the opportunity to be able to enjoy the same schedule as my children had and therefore sharing more time with them. When with my family we relocated to America, my two children (by the way they both are pursuing an engineering degree) were older enough to give me more free time to develop a new strategic plan and I decided that I wanted to help others discover and enjoy Math & Science as I did when I was young. Thanks to my husband support I founded Bright & Smart in 2005. We are located in South Florida and our goal is to teach children basic engineering skills through teamwork, computer programming and robot building. I love when we have girls involved in our programs and always try to encourage everyone to discover their natural skills.
