Profile Biography
I joined the Army when I turned 17 because I had no way to pay for college. I spent 6 years in an intelligence specialty, with 3 tours to Afghanistan. I tried taking college classes during this time but had no idea what I wanted to do, so I had no clear path. I decided on engineering as a career because I like to do and make things. I went to welding school and had the perfect plan to weld while attending school, which was immediately derailed by finding out I was pregnant with my son. So I adjusted plans and began school for industrial engineering. I finish my BS in December 2018, and I am beginning an MS program in March of 2019. I work at an air compressor factory as an industrial engineer and I love it. The fast paced environment causes me to be building boxes to hold salvaged parts safely one day, and researching why nitrogen behaves the way it does the next. It's always a new challenge and something new to learn. I can't wait to get to work everyday :)
