Profile Biography
Hi everyone! My name is Kristine Loh and I graduated from Drexel University with my Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and my Master's in Materials Science and Engineering through the Accelerated BS/MS program. I also got a Certificate in Technical Communication and Publishing as a member of the Pennoni Honors College. While at Drexel, I did two years of industry work through three different co-op (internship) experiences. I was also active in undergraduate research and studied abroad in Bochum, Germany in my third year. I am now pursuing my PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. While I'm not 100% sure of what I want to do in my career, I'm leaning toward becoming a professor because I love to teach, mentor, and conduct research.

Outside of school, I love volunteering for organizations that support diversity and inclusion in STEM. In my department, I serve leadership positions in Science For All, a middle school local science outreach program, and our Women+ Group to support those of underrepresented genders in our department. I volunteered for the Society of Women Engineers as the SWENext High School Newsletter Reporter and as the Community Lead for the Asian Connections Affinity Group.

In my free time, I love to cook! I love trying out new recipes for my air fryer. My Dad owns a Chinese restaurant so food has always been a very important part of my life. I also love to travel and explore new places. To keep my mind and my body healthy, I love participating in group exercise classes, like yoga, zumba, and kickboxing! I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and moved out of the state for the first time to go to college.
