Kelsey is a research scientist at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. She studies volcanic rocks from the Moon and other planets. Her daily work involves conducting laboratory experiments that simulate the interiors of planets in order to help us understand how planets form and evolve through time.
Kelsey is originally from Indiana. She attended Brown University in Rhode Island for her undergraduate degree (Bachelor in Sciences, Honors). She obtained her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis, and moved to D.C. for her post-doctoral position at the Carnegie Institution for Science Earth and Planets Laboratory. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys playing softball and other sports, baking cookies, and watching movies with her family.
