Profile Biography
I am currently a Ph.D. student and graduate research assistant at the University of South Florida's College of Marine Science. I completed my Master of Science degree in Fall 2013 at USF College of Marine Science where I used new technologies (satellite/remote sensing techniques) to look at currents of the world's oceans. I will continue this research for my doctorate studies. I have always been involved in science, especially in middle and high school where I was able to participate in Chesapeake Bay Watershed restoration activities. Growing up in Maryland, I was fortunate enough to work on some projects involving restoration and conservation of the Chesapeake Bay. This fueled my interests in conservation projects and outreach. I hope to continue to educate others on the importance of understanding how the environment and ocean work and how we can help preserve them. When not working or in school I enjoy spending time with my Australian Cattle Dog, Tilly, playing ultimate frisbee, reading, cooking, and going to the beach.
