Jessica Harris is currently Program Director of the Clark Scholars Program at the University of Virginia. She is also the Founder/CEO of her consulting firm Jessica A. Harris, LLC. Previously, Jessica was the STEAM Education Program Development Officer in the Education and Public Outreach Department at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in Charlottesville, VA.  Before working at NRAO, she was as an education outreach specialist and director of the Space Astronomy Summer Program (SASP) for the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore, MD for 7 years. While at STScI Jessica had a dual role in creating outreach activities for the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Jessica was also the co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion (aka Invision) Working Group, member of the Women Empowering Women (WEW) group, and one of the facilitators for the Women in Astronomy Conference workshop “Concrete Steps to Make Your Workplace More Inclusive” workshop.

Jessica’s previous professional experience includes various research internships at Duke University, Lehigh University, and Vanderbilt University. Jessica has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physic from Grambling State University and a Master’s Degree in Physics from Fisk University.
