Jabreel Walker, a young professional in the city of New Orleans, decided to become a chemical engineer after her HighSchool Chemistry teacher suggested that career path during a discussion. She graduated cum laude from Prairie View A&M University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. She currently works as a Process Engineer for Motiva Enterprises, LLC/Shell Oil Company. Outside of work she is the President of the National Society of Black Engineers New Orleans Alumni Chapter, (NSBE), a member of the Greater New Orleans Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and a Collegiate Leadership Coach. She is also a member of the Young Leadership Council and participates in various community activites that promote STEM fields.

My advice to youth is your love of math and science is not what will make you an engineer, it is hard work, determination, and the will to succeed that will make you into an engineer!
