Profile Biography
I am a certified speech and language pathologist, and co-owner and executive board member of Milestones Therapeutic Associates. I am a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association(ASHA) and Texas Speech–Hearing associations, the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association, and the Junior League of McAllen. I received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in communication disorders from the University of Texas-Pan American. I have been appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve as Chair of the Governor's Commission for Women.
I chose my career path because of my longing to work and help children with special needs. Throughout my career, I have continued to focus on expanding my education, knowledge and skills to better serve children with neuromuscular issues. In addition to co-owning a pediatric rehabilitation clinic, I am a Speech-Language Pathologist, and a Certified Neuro-developmental Treatment (NDT) Speech Instructor.
My advice to girls/young women is to work hard, pursue your goals and seek to make a difference for the better, in our world.
