I am an Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy and the University of California, Irvine. I study the climate and potential habitability of planets orbiting stars other than our Sun, which we call extrasolar planets. In addition to being an astronomer and an astrobiologist, I'm also a classically-trained actor and violinist, and work to develop innovative ways to communicate science to the public using theater. I am Founder and Director of an organization called Rising Stargirls, which involves middle-school girls of color in Astronomy and Astrobiology using theater, writing, and visual art.
