FabFems Events

This page features news and stories from FabFems around the country. If you have a FabFems story to share, please email info@fabfems.org. We'd love to share your story!

In August 2013 the Pacific Northwest Girls Collaborative Project (PNWGCP) hosted a FabFems booth at the Museum of Flight’s “Back-to-School with STEM” event in Seattle, WA. With over 100 youth and parents visiting the table throughout the day, volunteers connected with parents/guardians looking for resources on how to encourage their children to pursue STEM careers and courses. The FabFems Dream wall engaged youth that stopped by the table by asking them to post their dreams on the “Dream Wall” and have conversations with FabFems volunteers about how STEM careers can help achieve their dreams. FabFems in Action: Girls Go Tech Career Day

Dana Hoffman posted her profile on the FabFems Role Model Directory and became part of a community of over 200 women in STEM who are inspiring role models for young women. Learn more about how Dana connected with other FabFems to work with girls in her community in this National Girls Collaborative Project blog post. According to Dana, the group “had some wonderful experiences mentoring young Girl Scouts interested in STEM professions,” and so they continued to work together. These FabFems from different organizations and universities came together and hosted a booth at the Girl Scouts’ “When I Grow Up” Career Exploration Day at the NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA on April 13th, 2013.
